Scholarships and Grants
Scholarships and grants do not require repayment and may come from NYUSH, federal programs, or outside organizations.
Private Loans
Private loans could come from a bank or other education loan provider. Interest rates, terms, conditions, and eligibility requirements vary.
Federal Loans
NYU works with the U.S. Department of Education to provide federal loans to ease the financial burden of attending college.
For federal financial aid, NYU uses a federally mandated formula called the “federal need analysis methodology,” which produces the Student Aid Index (SAI) with your submission of the FAFSA. The SAI is then subtracted from NYU's cost of attendance to arrive at the student's financial need for federal financial aid purposes.
For NYU scholarships and grants, eligibility is based on a variety of factors. Please visit Undergraduate Aid Application and Graduate Aid Application for more information.
